Getting closer (Kang Hyewon)
Tumblr media
“All I’m saying is—” Hyewon looks away, drink in hand, taking a little sip, calm and alluring as ever, “if you only want to see me naked, then you could have just said so.”
You widely stare back, silent, indifferent—or at least pretend to be. It’s gotten you a fair amount of awards, after all. It’s not the slightest bit of convincing whatsoever.
She laughs, softly, as if this was the expected outcome. “So I’m taking that as an admission.”
Setting down the near-empty wine glass on the bathroom sink, Hyewon attempts to walk away, only to be stopped by a sudden pull. Your hand appears tightly wrapped around her dainty wrist, unwilling to let go. Your eyes aimlessly wander up and down the empty void that is her black dress. There are hardly any thoughts behind that predictably empty head of yours, only the simplest of desires.
You catch the subtlest grin forming on her saccharine lips. You fucking hate how she makes you feel. How she makes your heart race with every exchange.
Despite all the time you’ve spent together, you wish you got to know her better.
—————
The last year and a half of your career has mostly centered around one thing, or in this case, one person: Kang Hyewon. There’s also this drama starring your pairing as co-leads, and you’ve been promoting together, but your names make up more of the headlines than the very show. Your names are synonymously tied together akin to an actual couple.
Unsurprisingly, Hyewon is damn gorgeous. It’s how she’s getting the calls to begin with. Another one of those former singers turned actors looking to be taken seriously within the larger entertainment industry. Most never make it past their first project and fall back on their old careers, with some completely flaming out of the spotlight altogether. She’s an exception. A minor part here, a supporting cameo there—until she’s more than pleasant eye candy. A starlet who knows how to pick what roles would showcase her talents the most.
She’s the perfect blend of beauty goddess and hotshot young star that the internet can get behind.
So it comes as a surprise when she’s casted as second fiddle to you, the first billing—and everyone comes away talking about her more. The scene stealer.
(This plucky rival agent, investigating a case your character has been trailing for years, barely scraping by with the thinnest of clues, only for her to uncover the mystery only days after starting the investigation. The writing screams Mary Sue, but she acts convincing and vulnerable enough to escape the scathing think pieces that’s commonly associated with such characters. Not to mention: you both look damn good together on screen and during your public appearances.
It’s a team that sailed a thousand ships—both for your characters and in the real world.)
The consummate professional you are, you don’t think much of it. Your filming experience can only be described as businesslike. Except for the scenes where you’re together on screen, you’ve been separated at arms’ length, only exchanging words between takes to keep any further relationship from developing. It’s only during the press tour where you’ve finally gotten somewhat close.
Perhaps a little too close for comfort. Enough to make video compilations by overzealous fans who think you and Hyewon are really an item. The evidence is everywhere—in interviews, behind the scenes content, and on both your Instagram pages. At least, that’s what they want to believe. Everyone else brushes it off as two hot people being hot together, and not much else.
Here’s the thing: you love Hyewon—that much is true. The question now is: does she love you back?
Thankfully, your duo doesn’t get in the way of the show being lauded, despite making up a majority of its fandom. Positive reviews from both critics and viewers, especially in regards to your chemistry. The connection between you two is one in a million, something that can’t be built over years and years of working together. It also helps your performances sell the dynamic incredibly well—well enough to create those delusional shippers that form the bedrock of your partnership.
Your names were positioned to go far during awards season. Not the consensus top pick, but as dark horse contenders to steal one every now and then. And while you both won your fair share of accolades, neither of you ended up walking away with the top prize. The conversation during the final ceremony of the year consisted primarily of the media and viewers talking about how your appearances together these last few months—and how you’re a match made in heaven.
Everyone’s gonna miss this pairing—and so will you.
Now you’re back at square one. Having snuck away from the afterparty currently celebrating the dozen or so awards your show won earlier tonight, you’ve brought Hyewon back to your hotel room. Neither of you cared once you both lost your respective categories. The pundits thought you each only had the slimmest of odds to win, so why bother. Hell, you were both itching to leave as soon as the red carpet concluded.
It’s all behind you now. You’re finally free from the glitz, glamor, and chaos of these vanity ceremonies and can really focus on what really matters—the pretty girl that you most likely won’t be seeing starring tomorrow. Your careers and interests couldn’t be any further apart: your main focus is movies, while hers are dramas. Both of you remain booked and busy for the next few years with different projects, with not a single one reuniting you two for the foreseeable future.
Back to Hyewon. She’s looking down at her wrist, tightly held by your hand. She allows it. You can feel her pulse. You sense that your hearts are racing in unison, tense and anxious.
“Are you gonna do something?” she questions, daring you to pull the trigger. She knows something you don’t—or maybe you do. You’re blinded by fear to realize it. “The night is fleeting. If not now, then when?”
Her words ring through your head.
If not now, then when?
The same five words, ordered in the exact same way—etched in tiny letters on her skin.
You still remember everything—frame by frame, down to the last details. On screen, it’s implied. In your mind, it canonically happened. She took her shirt off, exposing herself and the scars of battle, and you were gonna go there. In your characters’ supposed words, ‘Clean’’ in your own unique way.
It was ultimately never shot. Bare minimum of fanservice and completely unnecessary, the director said.
The tattoo sticks out, not only because of how it's deeply embedded on her otherwise pristine, lithe figure, but also because it represents the last 18 months of your career.
During this period, there are a lot of things that you’ve regret—and will regret. The fact you’ve kept contact with her during filming at a minimum, keeping your interactions strictly between takes and creating a negative air around you in her eyes. The fact it took you so long to exchange numbers, only getting it done during the press tour. The fact that you never return her messages when she constantly reaches out to you, whether through text or on your Instagram. The fact you haven’t thanked her enough times during your acceptance speeches, even when you mention her name in almost every other sentence. If there’s anything you want to admit, it’s that Hyewon is everything.
Most importantly, the fact that you fucking love her, to the point where you’d yearn moments when you’re not beside her—and you still lack the will to confess to her. Even right now. When she’s right at your fingertips.
Perhaps she knows this. The signs were there all along. How she often posts your red carpet photos together and tags you in them. How she also mentions you as much during her acceptance speeches and credits you as a reason for her improvements in acting, even referencing specific advice you’ve given her. The biggest hint, however, are the dresses she’s been wearing to these galas, most evident being tonight. Simple all black, tailor made for her frame, showing off her assets for flaunting to the cameras.
Earlier, she led you to an empty part of the theater to say something in private. “I wore this just for you,” she said—and from that point, you had to get her alone, whatever it takes.
Really, Hyewon has no intention to leave tonight. She’s just waiting for those magic words. There’s no other logical reason for her to be here, other than for you.
She might as well be holding up a huge signpost with all her requests written in capital letters.
“If you’re not gonna do anything,” she says, tone casual, slipping one strap of her dress down her shoulder, the one half of the fabric dropping a fair amount. “Then I might as well do it myself. I was hoping you’d take this off me—”
“Stop.”
You grab her other hand, close to touching the other strap, the dress more than ready to fall down. She raises her eyebrows in amusement. Afterward, she puts the seized hand down, convincing you to release the grip.
Another win for Hyewon. You’ve lost count as to how many times she’s been messing with you throughout awards season. Probably in the hundreds. Thousands if you count the interviews and little jabs during her speeches. Every mention of your name is an immediate sign of trouble. You can sense she’s enjoying every single moment, relishing the remaining time you have left. Meanwhile, it’s clear on your face that you’re stressed.
But for what?
“If it hasn’t gotten through your thick skull, then I have no choice but to explain it.” Hyewon climbs atop the bathroom sink, strong enough to lift herself off the ground. She pours the glass with new wine; it’s not meant for you. Her attitude flips instantaneously like a switch, composed and readying herself as if it were another photoshoot.
Taking a sip of the drink, she pours the rest all over her dress. It serves no purpose anymore. it’s undeniable that she knows what she’s doing. That elegant yet cocky smile is permanently seared into your brain. Someone this haughty shouldn’t be this beautiful and seductive. “You can stand there and waste the night away, or you can do something about it. All up to you.”
You can only sigh. Whether out of wistfulness or annoyance is up for interpretation. You can add taking her back to your hotel room and taking this role in your ever growing list of regrets. When it’s all said and done, it’ll definitely be as long as the career documentary they’ll make about you in 50 years.
What more do you have to lose?
This will all be behind you soon enough.
You finally stop giving her the cold shoulder. “God, I really wish you weren’t such a tease,” you remark, pulling on the dress strap she previously slid down. “Because otherwise, it would have been so much easier.”
Hyewon seems to have taken your words seriously, because she suddenly kisses you—as in, relentlessly smothers you. Her arms wrap around your neck, slowly pulling you close into an embrace. She smells of alcohol and perfume. An unusual concoction that you can drown yourself in.
“Only if you say the magic word,” she says, gently laughing between kisses. The lower half of your face is full of pale lipstick marks. It was foolish to think she had turned a new leaf, knowing how intentional Hyewon can be with everything.
You’ve really got no other choice.
“I love you,” you confess, but in the smallest audible voice imaginable—hiding that reluctance behind your tone.
Hyewon pulls herself back, smiling toothily at you, borderline snorting. Her expressions convey the idea that you told her a joke, which it may as well be.
“That’s it? Doesn’t sound like someone who loves me,” she remarks, tone evidently disparaging.
“Fuck me.” The groan comes out instinctively, as if this wasn’t your first time getting burned like this. Your head is raised to the ceiling, asking the gods for an out.
“That’s my line,” she spouts, her response almost as instantaneous. Wit comes naturally to Hyewon. The countless viewers and interviewers who’ve laughed can speak on her behalf.
“You’re gonna turn everything I say into a joke, are you?” you ask, knowing you’ve willingly fallen for the easiest bait in the entire world.
“You’re gonna turn everything I say into a joke, are you?” she repeats, mockingly imitating your voice, much to your utter chagrin. This isn’t part of some romcom or a sketch. This is real. Everything comes back around to Hyewon. She laughs—basks in your suffering.
It’s the kind of trait that would leave you second guessing whether you really love her or not. As it turns out, the public loves celebrities with a playful sense of humor. Not even you are innocent—you’ve been caught red-handed on camera a few times. Hyewon doesn’t need to reaffirm herself.
But she would love to hear it straight from the source.
“Say it. Say it.” Hyewon is urging you—demanding you—as if it were a matter of life or death. Her hands are everywhere, gripping you by the cheek and the throat like her prized possessions, threatening to choke the life out of you.
Truthfully, this was coming the moment she stepped through those doors for the first table read. Hyewon’s gravity is inescapable.
“Love you—Hyem, please—”
Struggling to push back against her hold, you can tell that she’s taking pleasure in every moment she has you like this: wrapped around her finger, so whipped over her that it’s alarming. There’s little use in trying to be coy or subtle. If she wanted you to go down to the afterparty in nothing but your boxers, you’d fold in a heartbeat. She’s the kind of girl you’d happily end up in a scandal with, someone you’d throw your career away in exchange for one timeless night, against the advice of everyone who knows better.
She knows this too. Look at the coy grin spreading on her face. A smile perfect for the front cover of any magazine or commercial. It’s the perfect facade for the attitude hiding beneath.
“I love you Hyem,” you repeat, showing a bit more desperation and sincerity this time. You’re breathing against her neck, the idea of pressing your lips against her skin a dire need. It’s unfortunate you can’t make it look like an accident—as is the idea of your bodies sinking down on the bathroom countertop. “For the longest time, I wanted you, but—”
Only now do you come to the simplest realization: there are no accidents.
Normally, you should feel some shame for being this oblivious. How a girl like Hyewon is giving out all these hints, to the point where she might as well be spreading her legs wide and pointing down at her cunt with a colorful sign. Hell, a thigh is peeking through her dress, pressing on your leg right now. If there’s one thing you’ve learned about working with other actors, it’s that chemistry comes naturally—it can’t be taught.
And your bodies are doing exactly that. The friction between you can’t be any more tense.
“Then show me.” She sighs against your ear, pulling on the topmost button of your suit, pushing down the matching coat. Her leg extends around your limb, goading you to pull away, even though leaving the pretty sight right in front of you is the last thing on your mind.
You can only breathe. Slow. Hesitant. There's not a lot of hours left, and you’re wasting more by taking your sweet time—resting your gaze on her pale shoulder, admiring all the little details. In essence, you’re doing the complete opposite of what Hyewon wants. She’s showing a little frustration, proving how much better of an actress she is than you. Imagine being in her shoes, beckoning to someone astronomically unaware for months. So much energy and effort could have been saved if she chose to leave you out to dry. If you weren’t so preoccupied with thoughts of her, the many ways this little scene can go, you’d be wondering why she’s this persistent.
Maybe you’re just as important of a character in her story too, or you’re both stubborn in your own ways. Perhaps both.
None of that is your concern right now. You’re cupping Hyewon’s face, kissing her, nibbling down on her creamy skin, reaching up to her lips by the way of her neck, pulling on the strap of her dress little by little. In response, she’s whispering sweet nothings into your ear, removing your dress shirt one button at a time. It feels like you’re going through the motions, acting under the words of an intimacy coordinator and a director. Slowly but surely, it’s all coming together, until—
“Stop.”
You pull back, noticing your shirt is nearly undone as you look past her and at the mirror. Both dress straps are halfway down her arms, the fabric a mess, waiting to be swept away.
You raise an eyebrow, puzzled. “What’s up?”
Hyewon tilts her head at an angle, unsatisfied. She’s staring at you intently, taking a moment to analyze you like you’re a problem to solve—which you are—before coming to a rather alarming conclusion. “You don’t seem like you want me that bad.”
The remark doesn’t register in your brain. “What do you mean—”
She yanks you forward for a deep kiss, cutting you off. Reciprocating her passion comes naturally—and so does everything else. The movement of your hands, taking lease of her back, tearing through the fabric of her dress, coming back to her cheeks, until you stop feeling cloth and register more flesh. Feeling her skin becomes your new addiction, something you can’t get enough of.
Watching her other movies—for research purposes—you knew she was well endowed, even when they were not on full display.  Some of her previous gala dresses truly put a spotlight on her cleavage. Part of you thought it was editing trickery, a perfectly taken photo at the right time, or a bra doing the heavy lifting. All three even. But holding them now, with nothing in between, you simply couldn’t believe how well they’ve been hidden from you.
Her tits fold, go flush, and her nipples stiffen at your touch. They feel so right—as if they were handmade for you.
“God, Hyem—” you breathe out, savoring the sensation of her mounds in your clasp, unwilling to let go. Her taut nipples jerk with every run of your palms. If only you could rest your head between them, but your current position won’t allow you.
“They feel so good right?” Hyewon moans in response, shedding your unbuttoned shirt off your body and tossing it to the floor, taking lease of your muscles and back. Her dress bunches up around her waist, practically collapsing when she decides to get up from the sink. Although an expected outcome, you’re both surprised that you’ve managed to get each other’s clothes off.
And you’re only getting started.
Pushing you away, Hyewon meets you at your level. Gravity does the rest. She stands before you in nothing but heels. What a mental image to remember her after tonight. She leaves you frozen and trembling, jaw agape, your eyes in a daze, unable to find a place to settle your fleeting gaze on—until she rests her hands around your shoulders. You’re caught up in your own disbelief to meet her lovely gaze and that rather sweet smile, quite the difference from her bare state.
She lifts up a leg, pushing herself onto you for another passionate kiss. Taking advantage, her legs eventually wrap around your waist, bearing all her weight on your grasp. Despite her surprise attack, she’s feathery enough to carry around. It certainly helps that she’s not the heaviest girl you’ve lifted before; you have some experience—mostly unpleasant and usually backbreaking. Still, you’ll treat her like some delicate object that crumbles at the slightest touch. Something—or someone—you can’t ruin, or else you’d be ruined too.
You both end up in the living room, deeply engrossed in a fiery passion that’s too hot for cameras. Lifting her high, your lips find their way to her chest, pressing them in the place where they rightfully belong. Hyewon is stubborn, pushing your head further up to meet your lips in a direct, frantic kiss. Back and forth, you take turns between her tits and her lips, unintentionally slamming her against a wall, eliciting a few yelps out of her.
It doesn’t bother you both in the slightest. You hold her there, kissing down her abdomen and ribs, coming to the tiny inked part of her figure. The same tattoo that’s been ingrained in your head since you first saw them.
You mutter the very words against her skin.
“If not now, then when.”
They’ve never been so relevant till right now. You softly kiss the ink, silently thanking her for saving you from a lifetime’s worth of regret.
Hyewon winces, throws her head back, moans up to the ceiling. Her nails brush through your hair, then claw at your nape as you remain fixated on her tattooed rib. She deserves to be adored and worshiped.
“Look at me babe,” she murmurs, gently tilting you up, faint at your touch. Against your desires, you follow. “Put me down. You know why I’m here.”
You oblige without a second thought—and you’re both on a level playing field again.
Still, you can’t help but kiss her right after. She reciprocates the favor. You’re a perfect match. Even as you’re making out, you’re thinking of ways to get messy and get the jump on her while she’s preoccupied.
It ends up being your biggest mistake.
Both of you wrestle for control over the other, a scuffle that ends up knocking down a few appliances and tableware. The sound of glass shattering rips through the hotel room floor louder than your collective moans ever will. For someone with a lithe figure, Hyewon proves to be much stronger than you were led to believe. It shows when you try to push her onto another table; you both end up crashing to the floor seconds later.
From there, it’s whoever is the first to get up, and you knew it was all over from there.
Hyewon leads you into the sole bedroom, shoving you onto the mattress. Unrelenting, she slams onto you right after, pinning you down with her bare hands. Surprising her with your own strength, you reach for her raven locks through her ironclad grip of your wrists. Your lips continue to crash like waves against rocks, neither of you willing to back down. There’s a clear disparity between you: she wants you more.
To further prove her point, she presses her palms down on your chest, sitting over you upright, straddled on your lap. She’s never looked better.
Making quick work of your trousers, your cock is freed from its confines, only to be immediately caught up in Hyewon’s hand. Her grip spreads through your groin, turning breathing into an absolute nightmare. The one fear that’s been haunting your mind these last few months, finally realized.
And it’s staring you down with an innocent yet wicked smile.
“You have no idea how long I wanted this,” she remarks, her sultry voice sending shivers down your spine. Arching down, she presses her tongue forward on your throbbing tip. Combined with the pressure she’s building with her hand, holes puncture through your lungs. And right on command, you’re leaking. She’s lapping your cock in circles, slow and agonizing, taking every little drop of precum seeping. You can only tremble beneath her, utterly defenseless. “Remembering when I was tapping your foot with my heel earlier tonight?”
She leaves you in such a dizzying spiral that you can’t even look directly at her, let alone formulate a reply. Meanwhile, her eyes remain fixed on you, doe-eyed with innocence, yet her actions are cruel. Breathing proves to be a struggle, let alone returning with a response. “What about it?”
“I wanted you to follow me to the bathroom. And I wanted you to fuck me in there.”
Honest to God, that was not the first thought on your mind. If anything, the presence of many proved to be the ideal shield in keeping yourself away from Hyewon. Losing best actor was the greatest blessing in disguise, as it meant you didn’t have to look straight into her magnetic eyes during your theoretical speech and make an embarrassment of yourself in front of hundreds in attendance, and millions watching on television.
Now that you’re in bed with no way to escape, you can only accept your fate.
“I’m not the best at reading the room,” you comment, sheepishly shaking your head.
“Not surprising, honestly,” she says, rewarding your candor with a kiss—on your tip. Then another. More heartwarming than arousing, if anything. “Anyone ever told you that you’re kind of a dork?”
“Not the first time I’ve heard it from a girl,” you say, in an attempt to show some wit, only to be met with a stiff grip on your cock. “Ah—fuck—”
A bit more force and Hyewon could break you in half with her mere hand alone. She’s cold, calculating, and cruel. Her expression seems apathetic, yet deep down, you can tell she’s having so much fun toying and teasing you, stealing what little semblance of willpower you have. And to think she’s this demure, sometimes funny celebrity with a certain image that’s universally admired by many.
Behind that gaze, she’s thinking of more ways to further ruin you.
“I don’t think a dork like you has been with other girls,” she remarks, leaning forward to tease a kiss, only to leave you dry. “But looking at this cock—”
She stops to admire your shaft once more. Ultimately, she can’t help herself. She has to give your tip another ceremonious flick with her parched tongue in appreciation. Two, actually. If she doesn’t stop, you’ll soon be deep in her throat, and you know she’s not letting you go. Thankfully, she finally regains sight of what she wants in the first place.
Lifting herself ever so slightly, Hyewon takes a deep breath—then slowly melts into you.
It’s a car crash you can’t look away from. It’s inevitable, but you’re completely powerless to stop her. You can only groan in agony as your bodies intertwine, creating a union that only she can break. Inch by inch, you helplessly watch as Hyewon slowly takes you into her suffocating heat. The sensation is unlike anything you’ve ever felt before: vicious, intense, and painful.
It doesn’t help that she’s taking her sweet time, keeping you on edge for what may as well be an eternity, bracing for the certain explosion she’s going to leave in her wake.
“Oh—fuck—it’s so perfect,” Hyewon throws her head back, her jaw dropping slow, every word delivered in a near-inaudible sigh. Eventually, she buries herself in you deep to the hilt—and she keens. “That—that’s it—that’s the fucking spot—”
Your hands cling to her waist, your maw similarly agape, breathing tensely as the pleasure slowly courses through your muscles. “God—you’re fucking tight—”
She hums in return, satisfied by your response, before losing herself in the sensation of your cock impaling her—and she begins to move.
As you fight the urge to cum right then and there, Hyewon slowly lifts herself off your lap, your cock reappearing with a fresh coat of her drenched pussy, before sinking back down. She rips the breath right from your lungs, while you’re forced to shut your eyes. Anything to keep your brain firing as the pleasure rushing throughout your body sends you into overdrive.
You’re an outlet of ecstasy, a conduit for her to loosen all her pent-up frustration and lust. Her palms grip to your thighs, keeping you in place—as if you’re in any condition to move anywhere except for her whim. She’s crashing into you at a punishing pace as a result of keeping yourself away for so long. And she’s being open about it too: “Why did it take us so long—ugh—”
You can only moan back. Truthfully, you’re wondering the same thing too.
As your eyes alternate between wide open and completely shut, you catch glimpses of Hyewon using every inch of you to fill her wanton pussy with cock. When she’s not cursing or screaming your name, her moans fill your ears with sweet, sultry music. It’s a sound not of her high class image. She’s riding you like it’s life or death, like her heart will stop beating if her cunt isn’t being stretched out.
With every bounce, so do her breasts. Up and down, settling into a rhythm, forming a hypnotic motion that your eyes get lost in. Your obsession reaches a point to where the movement of her tits stirs you on, reigniting your tired muscles. You can’t lie there and be a helpless viewer any longer.
And so, you meet Hyewon halfway, matching the grind of her hips with your thrust at the apex, setting her alight. This particular stroke. The hot sensation. It utterly shatters her. Her voice cracks. She trembles violently, giving you breathing room to sit upward and lean close to her chest.
So while she staggers back, overwhelmed by your cock spearing her cunt, you go down on her succulent breasts, squishing your face between them. Despite having Hyewon’s body all to yourself, the friction between your bodies creates this wracking storm that drives you insane. It isn’t enough that you’re feasting on her tits, that her boobs are bouncing so hard it’s downright pornographic, and that she’s screaming her heart out in response to each stroke. This will be headline news tomorrow. Yet, none of that is your concern. You have to pour everything into her. It’s now or never.
“Fuck yes—oh fuck—fucking take me—fuck—” Hyewon’s riding your cock, forcing all the air out your lungs, rendering you speechless. Doesn’t matter, you’re drowning in her slick and her tits, pounding away with twice the effort. She’s swearing through her tongue like she’s a cop in a crime picture, biting down on her lip in a flimsy attempt to restrain herself, but anyone with a good ear nearby could have easily identified her voice through the four walls of this hotel room. Knowing her, it’s intentional. She’s determined to put you through a world of trouble, leaving you with no other choice but to shut her up.
And you’re going to do just that.
You end up yanking her by the waist as your bodies repeatedly collide with each other. Each impact the equivalent of a cosmic explosion, the aftermath echoing through the room. The sound of skin slapping skin fills your ears louder than what it seems in the movies. Sex with Hyewon is much, much better than in your fantasies. Here’s another thing that can’t be found on camera: her soft pleas begging you to keep going, interlaced between harsh whines and airy moans that can’t be faked.
“God, I’m gonna fucking cum, Hyewon.” There you go, your silly side showing at such a serious moment. Everyone knows you don’t proclaim your impending climax. Rookie mistake. You’re not shooting a porno, but you might as well be with how hard you’re fucking her. She can’t help but cackle even as you relentlessly pound into her cunt. What should be a moment of weakness immediately gets brushed aside as you hold her when she slams down, and you finally fall apart.
Impaling your cock hilt deep inside Hyewon, you’re digging your palms deep into her soft flesh, unwilling to let go. She rests her head beside yours as you blast her with thick, warm cum. Her prolonged, saccharine-sounding moan is nothing compared to the loaded groan that ripples through the room. The supplication she makes, demanding you to fill her with every little drop goes through deaf ears. Your dick seems to have heard it loud and clear, though. The amount you’re filling her is enough to rip through her body violently too. She follows with her own peak afterwards, hitting a previously unheard octave higher, your bodies finally melting into one.
Just like that, she’s clinging to you like you’re her personal life support, completely drained of all her strength.
The ecstasy lasts for a brief moment. The fall off happens too soon for your liking. Like her, you’re sapped of energy and you fall down to earth with Hyewon in your arms. The end comes—not with grandiose drama or spectacle, but by a calm, uneventful stir.
You should be done at this point. It’s been a long day. You’ve been up as early as sunrise, spent hours behind makeup and measuring tape for a suit you won’t wear more than once. Smiling comes natural, if not downright fake; in front of the cameras, on the red carpet, on screen, and even during the afterparties. Every time you step out in public, there’s an image, a reputation to uphold. You’ve done this a dozen times in the past few months alone, bearing a lifetime’s worth of and it never gets more comfortable or easier. It’s a miracle you haven’t cracked or had a public breakdown, even though your mind is calling for it.
And yet, all that labor and agony is worth it for what you have now. The awards, the recognition, the adoration—but most especially the girl. What are you now, taken out of a story. One that feels all too familiar and done to death, but it never grows old or tired.
By all accounts, it should be a happy ending.
Except you’re not done. You’re not satisfied, and so is Hyewon. Even though she’s settling down in your embrace, resting her head against your heartbeats, mumbling these sweet nothings about how much you’ve ruined her and fucked her to shreds, she’s quietly begging for more. It isn’t about keeping a sanctimonious image anymore; it’s about how far you’ll push her and use her. Your throbbing cock buried inside her cunt says it too.
If there’s anything you’ve learned about acting, it’s that one take isn’t enough.
Like a damsel in distress, you scoop Hyewon into your arms. Through what you might consider a second wind, you carry her into the bathroom again on wobbly legs, stepping into the shower, showing that you’re ready to take your relationship a step further. You’ll hash out the details in the morning—if she hasn’t left by then.
The sound of running water serves as background for the airy, lewd noises that quickly fill the shower.
Hyewon feels incredibly soft to touch. Pliable in your grasp, like a doll to bend, twist, and use at your whim. You’re squeezing her flesh, fondling her mounds tightly till you’re seeing red everywhere. Her tits, her shapely ass, and everything in between. Kissing down her body, giving every little part its much needed attention. You’ve fucked her to pieces, yes, but she’s still housing a divine figure that deserves the same level of praise.
With two fingers stroking at her cunt, she’s keening, her head tilted up to meet the relentless downpour rushing down over your bodies. Her voice is in tatters after an hour of tireless screaming, in addition to all the mindless chatter from earlier tonight. Part of you wishes to have taken up her offer. Something this good shouldn’t be kept secret, but you’re more than selfish enough to keep Hyewon all to yourself.
Your raging impulse gets the better of you, and you slap her tits from behind. She yelps a cry of pain and pleasure. The recoil and sound activates something in your brain like a sleeper agent. You do it a second time, then a third. You stop counting after, indulging yourself in the satisfying noise of her mounds smacked over and over, every squeal, every strike equally as gratifying as your cock slamming into her pussy. She’s clinging to the walls as a respite, her body shuddering vigorously, but you don’t give her a moment to breathe. It’s what she would have wanted: to be used and taken like a ragdoll.
Hyewon screams again when you swing her around, lifting one leg around your waist, and slam your cock inside her. No pleasantries, no talking through the process—only a desire to fuck. Burying your face against her neck, growling into her skin like a ravenous beast, you hammer away without care for neither your comfort nor hers. You’re counting the hours, minutes, seconds before she disappears from your life, and you’re gonna make sure that years from now, she remembers this night in particular.
You’re too engrossed to see her expressions twist in impossible ways that average humans can make. But that’s the point: Hyewon is no ordinary person. She’s one actress, something that can be found in others who are more talented and have more resounding qualities, but more than that, to you, she’s everything. The clench of her cunt on your cock continues to invigorate you and push you further. With every thrust, she jumps and sends aftershocks coursing through your veins. God, you love how incredibly well she fucking takes it, and the slightest tilt of her lips struggling to form a grin reinforce this. You’ve got nothing else to say, really; you easily lose yourself in your own lust, and you wouldn’t have it any other way.
It doesn’t take too long before you feel it again. The end. It’s approaching faster than you can react. You knew it wasn’t going to be a drawn out affair, but you’re so desperate to reach that high, no matter how brief it may be. It was too good to pass up, and you’re beyond waiting a second more.
You’d give everything up for even a single minute longer, but the period of bargaining has long passed you by.
“Gonna cum again—fuck—” is all you can muster, your first words after a long while. Her pussy feels so good to form coherent words. Lust has utterly consumed your brain more than anything. The entire time, Hyewon’s mewling, keening in every direction, trying to find purchase on the walls or the shower door, only to fall a few inches short. She ends up coming back to you, hanging on for dear life. You’ve never let up, terrified that she’ll magically disappear into nothing at any second.
Acting fast, as if you’ve got a ticking bomb in hand, you draw your cock out, coated in a thick sheen of your own cum and hers, pumping yourself with a few strokes of your hand until you finally explode. The shower washes down the milky white blot you’re unloading on her skin, never leaving a permanent mark. It does, however, bring you back to the place that began your undoing.
The tattoo on her rib.
Water wipes the cum blocking the view. Despite those same five words occupying your mind for the last few hours, it still hits like a fresh revelation. You hear her voice repeating them inside your head as you come to your senses, your lust being satiated—for now. Even when Hyewon is completely broken before you, reduced to a quiet pile of flesh. One hand on the surrounding wall, the other in limbo, her leg still coiled around your waist, forcing oxygen into her tired lungs wherever she can.
With the ‘quick’ shower done, and after hardly any cleaning was made, you carry her back to the bedroom.
You don’t even make it past the living room before your legs finally give up. You end up crashing onto the floor together before you both finally call it a night.
—————
“This is your fault you know,” says Hyewon, drawing circles on your chest, over your calm heartbeats. “I’m supposed to be in London tomorrow for my table read. And yet I’m still here. My flight was five hours ago by the way.”
It’s already high noon when you finally regain consciousness, your head still spinning despite not taking more than one alcoholic drink the night before. Hyewon’s doing marginally better, having woken up 30 minutes earlier. No wonder it feels so hot; her body is snuggled up on you, your limbs tangled. Despite the urgency she’s speaking about, she doesn’t seem to be interested in moving any time soon.
At least you’re awake and sensible enough to fire back. “Who’s fault is that? I wasn’t the one inviting you to come over and have you fucked senseless.”
She chuckles into your skin, little ripples forming where her lips are gently pressed. “And I wasn’t the one who spent the last 18 months saying we’re just friends.”
You’re already lying flat on the floor, but the rebuttal only makes you want to get up only to fall back down. So you settle with an expressive sigh.
Hyewon laughs. It’s what won over millions, including you. You’re taken back to that fateful day you first met. Right then and there, you knew there’d be no one else like her. If given an opportunity to go back and change a few things here and there or, you’d do it over again, mistakes included. Last night was worth all the waiting and teasing.
“So—about that show,” you lean up, pushing her closer to your face, “What was it again? Something about you being a nymphomaniac? Delete what?”
“You mean Delete This? Let’s not.”
Mention of the premise alone is enough to set her gummy cheeks on fire. For someone whose career has been built up on mostly more general audience friendly programming, leading a sexual soap opera is quite the jump.
She buries her head on your neck, embarrassed, feeling guilty. “Yeah. I mean, last night was—different, you know? I’ve shown my tits and body already, but I’ve never had sex—on screen before.”
You should have known. She needed a reason to get in your pants without your working relationship only centering around your bodies. And those were clearly stand-ins based on how her face is never shown during her older scenes.
“Jesus, Hyem. If you wanted to have sex, you could have asked anytime. You have no idea how annoyed I was when they scrapped our scene last minute. It was only you taking off your shirt too.”
“On the bright side, we didn’t have an intimacy director getting in the way, right?”
She does have a point. Still, your personal cold war didn’t need to last 18 months before either of you would make the first move.
But with all that tension a thing of the past, the chains are unfettered. Now both of you have the ability to take this little secret in any direction you desire. You could simply be a workplace couple; it’s been the story of your year so far. Or you could take things a step further. The possibilities are truly endless.
Hyewon’s cheeky grin slowly reforms, her hand snaking up to cup your cheek. “Shame we only had one night. I could spend the rest of the day here, but—” she huffs, “I’m running late. Too bad I won’t get to have this cock for a long, long time.”
You lift an amused eyebrow, barely able to keep your new cockiness from showing. “Will you, though?”
She’s taken completely by surprise. “What do you mean?”
“Check your phone.”
After rising to her feet, Hyewon walks over to the console table where her purse is set. Fishing her phone from the handbag, she scrolls through the apps, her attention di–vided between the screen and you on the floor, finally getting up as well.
Her stare then lingers on the phone, as if whatever headline of the day has caught her attention.
Next thing you know, she’s grabbing you by the chest, dragging you back to the bedroom before shoving you back onto the mattress—right where you belong. Pinning you down and dead to rights, Hyewon mounts herself on your lap, your cock pressed against her aching core, ready to receive a fresh beating.
Some jokes can go a little too far.
“You fucking asshole. You mean that—”
“Yep.”
“And it’s not—”
“It’s not.”
You can feel her hips slowly grinding against yours. You’re gonna love—and hate—the next 18 months with Hyewon.
“I’m going to kill you. And I mean: kill you.”
“No better way to go out.”
—————
(A/N: Thank you for the commission! That Hyewon dress is so ripe for material, and I had to incorporate her tattoos into it somehow. She doesn't show them quite often—heck, she hasn't publicly addressed them even once, I believe. That little nod at the end is for everyone still waiting for Delete this to return. At this point, a reimagining or remake must happen first before the next actual episode because good God my writing back then versus now is night & day. Even comparing the last update from 2022(?) to today is also radically different in style. I'm still interested in reviving it; it's just a matter of when, not if. Thank you for reading!)

At this point, I feel like academic papers need to be written regarding PR and fandom culture, because it truly is getting to be an incredibly toxic and taxing thing that social media is just making worse.
Yes, LN is a real person who should be able to live his life and have a girlfriend he has been very explicit at times to refer to as a “loved one” or part of the stuff he keeps private that he cherishes. But at the same time, he went 6 months on promo that pushed the girlfriend off to the side (either or partly by his own choice) while very much embracing and amplifying a very affectionate and close relationship with his costar/friend all in an attempt to gain attention for a show, playing up attention from a very vocal fan base that is extremely invested. It isn’t just a piece of media for those fans, and PR def knows that. Unfortunately, actors are in a really delicate position because as much as they are themselves, they are also the most visible and therefore real part of their character, and people can’t always separate that. This is all to say that if you’re going to benefit from mixing/playing into the relationship between the actors and the characters, it should also be recognized what costs/considerations that will have.
Is this all out of hand at this point? Yeah. Do I think we would have always seen people lose their shit post S3 simply because they went SO HARD on promo for so long that suddenly not having content was gonna be like a detox? Absolutely. But some of this could have been avoided if they hadn’t made the personal so much a part of the promo, and figuring out how to handle that better should have been something PR teams worked on, even if not for the fans sake, but the actors themselves.
I saw someone comment that basically do people expect him not to have a life and I think that is a valid point, but also ignores the fact that at least part of his real life was very much a part of the promo. For a lot of fans, they aren’t at a point where they can compartmentalize that actors are doing a job and what we see isn’t really always them. It isn’t really fair to him, but that’s basically/realistically part of the deal they made taking on a role like this and promoting it how they did. If having to maintain the illusion for a bit after in order not to cause issue wasn’t explained to them, then that’s a fairly shit job on the PR teams, because I even saw that coming.
Ultimately, this whole situation feels rather shitty, uncomfy, and honestly really avoidable, and something that is just going to keep happening with shows with big followings. I shudder to think of what might have been if the Glee fandom was at its peak today.
There is a lot I could say here but atp it is really just beating a dead horse. However....
"But some of this could have been avoided if they hadn’t made the personal so much a part of the promo,"
I want to address this because I really haven’t yet and there were so many ways the personal bleed over affected perceptions.
My biggest complaint is this:
As much as I love the content we got out of Ireland I think it was a HUGE misstep for the press tour.
It was way to personal and setting a narrative while actively blurring lines.
It also made the tour feel one-sided. Luke and Nic didn't feel like co-stars.
We didn't have a stop in Brighton for Luke. They could've had a small screening there like Galway.
It seems like covertly Nic was placed more as a lead and Luke more in a supporting role by Netflix/Shaondland.
There could be a myriad of reasons for this, I mean look at how she carried a lot of the press tour.
Which brings up another issue I have...
Watching back interviews you see why she carried a lot of them, the majority of the questions were directed to her.
I also get that she is a more well known actress and is operating with more star power.
This hurt Luke honestly.
He doesn’t have a commanding presence when paired with people during interviews and especially not with Nic.
This is then where I have a major issue with his team, they should have been actively trying to play to his strengths during the promo tour.
Contractually he may have been restrained in certain areas but there is so much that he could have done to step out of Nic's shadow during the tour.
Because he was not giving S3 lead during the promo tour and it sucked to watch.
And for the weirdos out there, I am not blaming Nic at all, so please don't come to me with that shit.

welcome to night vale kind of sucks
I can't believe I'm doing this again but here goes: I'm writing a call out post for the behaviors made by my favorite podcasters. I love Night Vale. Let me make that clear. My whole blog is Night Vale. I've cosplayed Night Vale. I've been in this fandom for eight years, and I've been holding out hope that the show will become "good" again for a long time. I've been a fan while simultaneously acknowledging some of their very harmful behavior. But this last episode just really cemented for me how the issues with their writing are not just failures of plot and theme, they are actively harming the communities that support them. Night Vale has turned from the show that canonized a queer relationship in 2013 and celebrated its thousands of fans, to something devoid of passion and almost unrecognizable in its messaging. These issues have been present for a while, but now they are everywhere in the show. They're completely overwhelming.
Why did an abused person not only forgive their abuser and say that he was "doing the best he could"? No, really - we had an entire season about generational trauma, a deeply personal topic for many people, and then you paint an abusive father as "misguided"? It's a slap in the face. Why do prominent female characters, particularly antagonists, always get either killed off or written out of the story by... ascending into the stars I guess? (So Lauren's the most powerful foe ever but then she's defeated by six people telling her they don't like her. Cool cool.) Why did the writers deradicalize a Black woman whose original story was about her courage and opposition to authority? Why was Tamika's role this season to be a caretaker for The Boy instead of her position in local government? Why is there only one recurring trans character in the show?
The worst thing of all for me though is the partnership with Betterhelp. Betterhelp, which sells people's data and has been called out for it time and time again. There was no excuse for them to take this sponsorship, especially when, oh yeah people were calling it out for endorsing conversion therapy. There are doctors on Betterhelp who have OFFERED CONVERSION THERAPY, and that's who they're promoting to their majority queer audience. But there's especially no excuse for this sponsorship when BetterHelp is collaborating with the Israeli Occupation Force. When Betterhelp is publicly associating itself with the army that burns people alive, that bombs hospitals, and is actively colonizing Palestine.
And before anyone says, "Mercury, why are you only writing a call out for the Betterhelp thing now after you didn't like this episode?" Well, I've been publicly calling them out for MONTHS over this. I've replied to almost every episode's Q&A to tell them they need to stop this partnership as well as replying to them on their socials asking why they're still working with this company.
Plus, this isn't just me disliking this episode - I'm seeing posts on the wtnv tag from abuse survivors who got extremely triggered by this and it just breaks my heart. Genuinely, why did they do that? This arc had such beautiful and introspective writing about parenting and it feels like they just threw it all away.
I don't know what note to end this on. I really hope they take their hiatus to reassess some business practices and write a better season. And mostly that they stop partnering with Betterhelp.

Mauvier is another serviceable late-game pre-promote who is strong enough at base to be useful for any team. The thing here is that Engage has ridiculously low deployment slots, so the chances you have a large team with a lot of investment put into it is very low, and Mauvier is (at base) stronger than all the other characters! And from this map onwards you get more deployment slots, there is little reason not to use him because statistically your other guys won’t be up to par. He just works and won’t be a burden for the huge majority of players. Emphasis on the word Just. He is Good but not amazing.
Character wise. Replacement husband came in! He initially was my choice to marry before Vander stole my heart due to design alone, but now that Vander is dead, he is back on the table. Hmmm, I think his character in the main story is moronic to a point where he is off-putting but at least he was interesting enough in the few supports I’ve seen to still like him. Religion talk? In MY zero-world building Engage??? Consider me intrigued.
The main problem with Mauvier is that his status as a reluctant villain is mostly centered in his relationship with Veyle (and the other Hounds) and yeah LOL there is nothing there. This character does not look good any way you look at him. Does he actually care about Veyle? Then why did he wait until the last possible second to get her out of her terrible situation? He is awful. Is he bound by his religion? Not really, he changes his tune for Veyle’s sake and joins his equivalent of Satan to save her. This is just not a Well Thought out character at all. But he gets a pass for being cute.
Tumblr media
Final unit of the game! Veyle works for the same reasons Mauvier does but unlike Mauvier she would actually hold a candle without the deployment slot problem. She is solid and would be a good asset for my team if… she didn’t immediately die in my playthrough. Oops!
I could talk for hours why Veyle just fucking sucks but I am feeling sleepy enough to just talk about it for a few paragraphs. She is probably one of the worst characters in the entire series. So much time is wasted on her and her terrible story about reuniting with her family and none of it works. Veyle falls into every shitty JRPG trope I hate without fail.  Acts like a 3-year-old when she is supposed to be much more mature? Check. Mind manipulation for drite drama? Check! Incest and pedo undertones? Also check!
Veyle just does NOT work. So much of her character dangles into her relationships with other people and none of it is explored. She is supposed to care about us because we are her long-lost sibling. Do we get glimpses into this relationship? Nope. And in the present she likes us because we talked her once. She is bound to the bad guys because of her evil father. Do we get to see their abusive relationship? Not even a scene with them before she rebels. Alright. The Four Hounds are OBVIOUSLY terrible. Why is Veyle hanging out with them? We do get a few scenes with Veyle and the Hounds and the manipulation tactics on display are what you would expect from a Nickelodeon show. Engage. DECIDE your tone. Are you a parody game? Are you a game for 7 year olds? Are you trying to be a super duper serious story about abusive parent-child relationships? What are you trying to be???
Veyle honestly encapsules everything that is terrible about the story of Engage. I refuse to think her story was written with any sincerity because there is nothing of substance here. She even looks completely out of place design wise. I know Engage gets a lot of shit for it’s designs but while they are very hit or miss for me the only one I truly hate is hers. She doesn’t look in-line with the rest of the fashion of the game. She does NOT look like our sibling in any way whatsoever. She feels out of place enough to personally consider her a bad DeviantArt OC. And I do not say this lightly.
Sorry, as you can tell I really hate this character, she really sours my experience every time she appears.

From what I've seen online, the major consensus amongst HP fans is that Cursed Child is NOT canon ( and many simply pretend it doesn't exist). I remember when it first came out and was being promoted, both the stage show and the published script, and everyone was really excited for new HP material... until we realised that it just... wasn't canon... at all. Yeah, the idea of Voldemort as presented in the HP novels having any sort of romantic relationship with Bellatrix and having a child is simply ridiculous and certainly just exists as a way for him to have a secret child for reasons of the wacky plot... it's very tween fanfic and also very Disney channel sequel (like the og villains all having kids we never heard about is totally a real Disney channel thing).
I remember it being very clear at the time that it came out that any "pointers" or "ideas" JKR provided to the actual writer of CC must've been the very barest of bones, the tiniest of shards perhaps, because it simply read like a sort of AU fanfiction written by the most casual of fans... which, as I understand, it really was. At the time when it came out, it was pretty clear that she had very little to do with actually writing it, though I suppose more was made later of her 'involvement' to legitimise it. I heard since that someone asked her if it should be considered canon, and she said yes? Not sure how this interaction actually went down as I don't particularly care to look into it (since nothing will change my mind that the AU of CC makes no sense within the context of HP canon and lore and it was probably some kind of marketing tactic in support of the stage play) but as she clearly didn't actually write CC herself and it contradicts many things from the books she did write, I'm pretty happy to continue ignoring its existence.
What do you think of Fantastic Beasts in comparison? Personally, I put Fantastic Beasts in a separate category where I can kind of accept aspects of it as canon expansions of the lore and worldbuilding... I can see JKR's style clearly and the inconsistencies with timelines and certain characters being in places and times they shouldn't be don't bother me as much as the straight up character assassination we see in CC. To put it another way, I think CC feels like it belongs to a totally different IP and was written by a different author (because it was) while FB definitely still exists in Rowling's wizarding world, it's just the timeline is kinda off.
this is interesting context. I think she kind of has to say yes to that question in context, because like... who's going to shill out ÂŁ150 to see some random dude's AU fanfiction play (if it isn't even good)? of course, JKR's stamp isn't nothing, but even she can't weld extra content into the canon by declaring it so. i see TCC like church ephemera: i'm sure SOMEONE finds it interesting or relevant to what we're doing here, but that doesn't mean it's part of the Bible.
i feel the same way about fantastic beasts, but to a lesser extent. i actually enjoyed the first fantastic beasts movie, i thought it was playful and charming and (with the exception of the dumb polyjuice plot) the perfect way to revive harry potter as a storytelling vehicle. like, yeah, it fucked up by trying to go too big too soon, but if you can remove one (1) subplot or narrative thread and have a solid movie, then as a writer, you've still done okay.
Fantastic Beasts also annoys me because it does feel like harry potter, in terms of tone and mouthfeel. it's got the sauce. it just heinously drops the ball in later installations. in particular, it starts getting nervous about holding the audience's attention and throws stuff in that just wouldn't make it in a natural, organic script — most of the shit from the original series is contrived and ill-suited to the dramatic tenor set by Movie About Funny Man Collecting Magical Animals. (e.g. going back to hogwarts? leta lestrange's secret white father revengeplot triple-rugpull? human nagini?? secret undead dumbledore brother raised by american evangelicals???). i like the idea of it very much. i'm honestly drawn to it as a creative space, because unlike TCC, there is potential there. it's just badly abused.

Who is your favorite non-Sayian, non-villain character in the Dragonball series? I really like Piccolo and Tien for instance. Or do you only have room for the major players?
Probably Bulma, Piccolo, or Krillin, depending on my mood. If I show greater appreciation for Saiyans and villains, it's only because they have a greater presence in the show, so there's more for me to talk about.
Even so, I still enjoy minor characters, or even obscure ones. To give you an idea, or just because I need to get it out of my head, I'll say a few words about my latest fixation, Ivy from Where on Earth is Carmen Sandiego?
Tumblr media
I just woke up today and somehow got reminded of this cartoon, which was promoted heavily on Fox back in 1994 while I was trying to watch Batman: The Animated Series. Carmen Sandiego is the thief from the old computer games, and the cartoon introduced a pair of detective characters to chase her, a brother-and-sister team named Zack and Ivy.
Zack is pretty easy to read. He's a computer whiz, voiced by the same guy who plays Robin in the Teen Titans cartoons, and he's basically this adolescent sidekick type. Ivy, on the other hand, I could never quite figure out. And the show is unwatchable, so that didn't help much.
Like, okay, in 1994 I was 17, and I kind of had the hots for Ivy. She kind of looks like a prototype Kim Possible, so I guess that gives younger people an idea of what I'm talking about. I think I just assumed she was also 17, but sometimes the show plays her off like she's an adult. I mean, she's a professional detective, and she seems pretty experienced, and from what I've read she has a "history with Carmen" according to the show. The implication is that she's been working this job for several years, so maybe she started when she was Zack's age and she's about 24 now. I'm just spitballing.
On the other hand, that's kind of dumb. It's a kids show, and Zack's a kid, so why wouldn't Ivy also be a kid? You see her in the same scene with Carmen and it seems obvious. She's older than Zack, but not by that much.
On the other hand, the two detectives are in contact with a live-action character known as the "Player", which sort of suggests that the entire cartoon is taking place inside a computer game, and Ivy doesn't actually exist. That would explain why no one can find a woman in a bright red trenchcoat, and why Zack is considered the second most qualified person to catch her. So Ivy could be any age, or no age at all. She's not a character so much as an avatar for the faceless Player.
Anyway, I only got this far because I looked up information on the show over the course of the day, because I had completely forgotten the character's whole deal. I just remembered the red hair and the bomber jacket. But while I was looking it up, I found out they made a whole other Carmen Sandiego show in 2019, and in that one, Zack and Ivy are Carmen's accomplices, which kind of blew my mind. Apparently Carmivy is a popular ship in that fandom, so I feel less silly for crushing on Ivy in 1994.
I guess the point I'm trying to make here is that I always admired the Ivy design, even if the character concept was frustratingly vague and inconsistent. And this is just the example that I've been thinking about today. I find myself latching onto all sorts of obscure characters, wanting to find out more about them, and then getting frustrated when I learn there's not much to be had.
And this is my roundabout way of saying that of course I like the supporting cast of Dragon Ball. Characters like Tien and 17 and Zarbon are what make the whole thing come together, and a lot of them have lore that's much more satisfying than Ivy's.

fic request:the first time someone says i love you for raffi and seven please:)
Warning: Major Character Death (It's not Raffi or Seven)
It was a Starfleet funeral for the ages. Ships from distant systems, from all species had come to pay their respects. There was political gladhanding sure, but it happened outside of the circle of people who knew him. The people who knew Jean-Luc Picard personally, really and truly were standing in a half-circle around the urn that contained his remains.
Jack was trying to hold it together. Beveryly and Geordi were openly crying. Raffi was misty eyed. Seven remained stoic but her voice shook when she spoke. Worf understood human customs were not his own so he kept his words to a minimum.
It was inevitable that Seven and Raffi would be standing next to each other, occasionally leaning close but never touching.
As the ceremonies were over and Picard was entombed in a statue of himself in front of the new Starfleet recruitment building, Seven had only spoken to Admiral Janeway who gave her a long hug and offered Seven any kind of support she could. Seven thanked her and bowed away when someone else stole Janeway’s attention.
She actively avoided the Commodores who, rumor had it, wanted to promote her to Captain. She couldn’t think about it right then. She had just lost a friend. They hadn’t known each other long, but the bond was strong.
She looked toward Raffi. She looked miserable. People kept going up to her and saying how brave they had been to save everyone from the Changelings and thanked her for what they had done, but Raffi had tuned them out long ago. Seven could see it.
Seven saw a break in people greeting Raffi and slipped in, grabbed her arm gently and pulled her to the side. “Do you have a ship?”
Raffi seemed immediately relieved, “No, but I have the codes to the planetary transport room.”
With really no plan on how to get back, Seven and Raffi walked into Starfleet headquarters, handwaved the security guards who tried to stop them only as a show and disappeared into the planetary transporter room.
Raffi didn’t even ask where they were going. She just let them in and went inside to stand on the transporter.
Seven used her Officer codes to input their location then jumped up on the platform to stand with Raffi.
They materialized in Vasquez Rocks, standing right in front of the front porch steps. It was all covered in dirt from being vacated for so long, but Raffi walked up the dirt covered stairs anyway and used her palm scan to open the door.
Seven unzipped her Officer jacket, took it off and kicked the dust off one of the porch chairs before setting her jacket on the back of it. She leaned on the railing and looked out into the vast empty desert.
Raffi had similarly taken off her Intelligence Division jacket and was carrying a bottle of whiskey and two glasses. “The climate control has been off in there for a while so it’s hot, but it’ll cool off in a minute.”
“I like it out here,” Seven let the Earth’s Sun warm her skin. She turned to look at Raffi. Her hair was up as well and she was using a towel to dust the dirt off of the table and the chairs. Seven went inside and got another towel to help. It felt like they’d never left.
Once the outdoor furniture was clean they sat down and Raffi poured the drinks.
“He left me the guest house on his estate,” Raffi sat back in her chair. “And the land around it. A small vineyard.”
“Wow,” Seven had to admit it was not something she expected, but the more the thought about it, the more it made sense. Jack wouldn’t want anything and she thought she had heard Raffi and Picard talking about a woman he was seeing before they left on their last adventure. “What are you going to do with it?”
“I don’t know,” Raffi shrugged. She took a long drink of the whiskey. “I wish people would stop giving me things before they leave and just stay.” She realized how that might have sounded to someone that essentially left her so she added as Seven opened her mouth to apologize, “I meant Rios and Picard.”
Seven nodded. “I didn’t give you anything anyway.” She was hoping a joke would make Raffi smile and for a moment it did.
Raffi shook her head. “What are you going to do now? I assume with Shaw’s discharge someone’s looking at you for the Chair.”
“I can’t think about it right now,” Seven shook her head. “I just need to… breathe.”
Raffi nodded. “I understand.” She reached into her pocket and pulled out a small black box. “I have a decision to make too.” She slid the box to Seven.
Seven opened it up and saw a solid matte black Starfleet communicator. “Section 31?”
Raffi nodded. She sighed, “I don’t know that I want to disappear again. It’s… hard.”
Seven could understand that. She took another sip of whiskey.
“Thanks for getting me out of there,” Raffi spoke after the silence was too heavy.
“Of course,” Seven looked over at Raffi. Raffi who had seen past her Borg Implants since day one. Raffi who was always ready to go all in if Seven had ever had the courage to ask “You’ve rescued me more times than I can count.”
Raffi leaned back as the sun warmed her shoulders and back. It felt nice. Space was cold and the ships were kept comfortable but there was something about being enveloped in the sun’s rays made her relax completely.
They had both grown quiet as the sun started sinking down behind the rocks. Raffi was kept refilling their glasses and they kept slowly sipping whiskey through the late afternoon into the evening.
Seven finally spoke as darkness started settling around them. “Would you have gone with me? If I’d asked?”
Raffi immediately knew what she was talking about. “When have I not?”
The question was like being slapped. Seven’s entire body froze completely then she took a shaky breath. “I get very afraid when I love someone.”
“I know,” Raffi nodded. They had talked about it. Seven had told her about all the children from the Borg that they had rescued. Every person that had phased in and out of Seven’s life.
There was a long pause before Raffi asked, seeming to just register what Seven had said. “You loved me?”
Seven swallowed and looked at her drink. “I still do.”
Raffi nodded and exhaled. “Damn, I thought I was the only one.”
Seven raised her eyebrow, “I’m sorry. I thought… I don’t know what I thought.” She shook her head and finished her drink.
“Doesn’t matter now,” Raffi finished her drink as well. She stood up and set her glass down. It was dark and she was tired. “I’m going to bed. You coming?”
Seven didn’t seem to have a choice. They had beamed themselves into the desert without really thinking about how to get back.
They had both change into leftover clothes Raffi had left behind and laid down in a bed they’d shared together so long ago.
It was dark in the room, but they could see the stars overhead, lending the tiniest amount of light onto the bed. Seven couldn’t see Raffi’s eyes in the darkness so she didn’t know if she was still awake. “Raff?”
“Hmm?” Raffi asked.
“I love you,” Seven stated in the safety of darkness.
There was a short pause. Then Raffi reached out and took her hand, “I love you too.”
“Do you think we-” Seven started, but Raffi moved to kiss her, gently and with promise.
Raffi rested back on her pillow and Seven would see her eyes looking back, sparkling in the starlight. “We’ll figure it out. Tomorrow.”
Seven threaded her fingers through Raffi’s and settled into her pillow. “Tomorrow.”

Not every day an actor you admire gets you to watch one of their movies...
Long post, you've been duly warned.
So if you've seen my more recent blogs, I've been obsessing (a bit, healthily, I assure you) over a certain adventure game series. And from there, I'm doing like I usually do when I want to know more about an actor I REALLY like. Finding other stuff they've done, checking out what social media they use here and there, non-profits they support and promote and what have you...
Enter Alexandra Boyd. Actor, writer, director...inspiration.
Podcasts? Check. Her own personal site? Check. Clips from past British shows she had minor AND major roles in? Check.
Finding out her latest film is a documentary about some of the "core extras," including herself, that were in 1997's 'Titanic?' And the trailer for it looks REALLY good?...didn't see that coming.
Truth: until, like, literally now, I NEVER SAW TITANIC.
I was probably the ONLY teenager in AMERICA that had no desire to go watch it, or had a crush on Leo DiCaprio for that matter.
But...granted, I remembered that other actors I've come to REALLY like over time since I was in high school, they were in the movie: Victor Garber, Bernard Hill, Ioan Gruffud, David Warner...you get the idea. I think I prefer Kate Winslet's performance in "Sense and Sensibility" to her Rose but, eh, I'm a little biased.
And, well there's good reasons why 'Titanic' got so many Academy Awards that year...but I'll be real: I was pretty damn excited when "Return of the King" got all of ITS Oscars for 2003.
Anyway.
Few days ago, I took a chance, hoping I didn't come off as too-much-of-an-awkward fangirl, and shot Alexandra a shoutout on Messenger, saying how amazing it was that she came back for her role as Elaine in Return to Monkey Island. And, kind of offhandedly, mentioned how cool the "Ship of Dreams" (her documentary that's releasing soon) looked, and...how I never saw Titanic but now was kind of inspired to after how many years.
She kindly responded to my message (yay!) and highly recommended to watch "Titanic" at the very least to obtain more of and appreciation for 'Ship of Dreams' when it comes out (I've no idea if it'll be in theaters where I live, but then again, I'm going to ask an acquaintance of mine, who just happens to be the director of a local historical theatre with a small modern cinema next to it, if they could possibly get hold of it. Small city living yo.)
Overall...I liked it. I definitely need to watch it again. Full on experience should be more than my library's letterboxed basic edition on my laptop.
Some scenes and lines...I was all "Oh yeah, right. Uh-huh." Dramatic license sort of getting in the way. Strongest dialogue...maybe not so much? Little cornball in places? Mm, well, putting on the romantic plot in an ultimate disaster movie...kind of lends itself to that sort of thing.
But didn't I LOVE to hate (well, strongly dislike) Billy Zane and David Warner's characters. Which of course is the idea. And I was internally cheering on Kate and Leo pretty much the whole way through. Kathy Bates was probably the best of all the first class passengers that got focused on.
Held my breath and tensed up and...closed my eyes for many of the stunt/action shots once the ship hit the iceberg. That music score realllly helped with that. Once it got to that certain high angle and you got more of the screaming...yeah, that broke me. Knew it was coming but still...hit me right in the feels. And didn't Victor look SO SAD when he realized the truth that his ship's design turned out to be SO flawed. Oh he plays that so well.
BUT I didn't get teary until good old (then unknown) Ioan "My Man Hornblower" Gruffud turned his lifeboat around and desperately called out if anyone in the water was still alive.
Yeah, I liked it. More than I thought I would. Surprised me quite a bit, which is usually a good thing. Need to find me more behind-the-scenes stuff. I'm intrigued, and that's always a good sign that I enjoyed a film.
So TL, DR: Alexandra Boyd basically got me to watch 'Titanic.' How cool is that? Thanks, Alexandra, and cheers!

Trendy Dresses For Girls
Hello all!
Tumblr media
This latest blog post goes out to all parents who have little princesses! Let us see what we have on Dresses for Girls today in this piece here.
It is a fact that girls always like to look smart and beautiful, as it helps them express themselves, their own style and cultural identity. We will delve into the importance of dresses and how they help them have a voice and empowerment.
The Dynacart blog is one of the most popular places to go when you need fashion tips. They are home to stunning independent brands as well as super brands from all over the world. They strive for showcasing up-to-date trends and timeless classics in girls’ fashion.
5 Must Have Dresses For Girls
Dresses for Girls are an essential component of any girl’s closet because they offer so many different ways for her to self-express. For example, who she really is along with her personal style. As a parent, making sure your daughter has variety of dresses is necessary. Here are three must-have dresses every girl should own:
The Classic A-Line Dress
This silhouette flatters all body types and provides a comfortable yet feminine look. Whether dressed up for a special event or worn with sneakers casually on a day off, A-line dress is a wardrobe hero. It will serve your daughter through several occasions.
The Little Black Dress
Every girl’s wardrobe should have a timeless, classic little black dress. It can be worn with sneakers and a jean jacket for a casual look. Alternatively, it can be dressed up with heels and bold jewelry for going out at night.
Skater Dress
The skater dress will allow your daughter to twirl around, jump, and play without looking too fashionable. This garment is suitable for playdates or simply any event where your offspring wants to move comfortably.
Shift Dress
When you want your little one to appear more put together, slip her into the shift dress. This simple silhouette radiates confidence and can be adjusted to suit every situation from school picture day to family get-togethers.
Maxi Dress
A maxi dress is an ideal choice for summer because it offers style as well as coverage. On the other hand, such occasions call for structured sheath dresses in striking colors or patterns.
No girl should lack some well-made, high-quality dresses that make her feel great about herself. The right choices of must-have dresses will make sure that she has something suitable for every occasion she encounters.
Psychological Aspects About Dresses For Women
The clothes girls choose have a great psychological effect on their confidence which is a determinant of their general well-being. Girls’ apparel choices can significantly influence how they perceive themselves and their level of self-assurance. Self-esteem and body image improve when people are comfortable and secure in their clothing.
On the contrary, if they feel shy about their dressing or compelled to follow societal norms, it may result into reduced self-esteem and poor mental well-being.
It is important to understand the importance of letting girls be unique. This could be done by creating an environment where every bit of fashion they prefer is highly respected as part of them-much as being driven by desires for personal style that define them.
Supporting body positivity towards girls can help them develop a positive self-worth that transcends their fashion tastes. For instance, we should promote an atmosphere of individual creativity thereby allowing space for personal creations within a safe context meant for finding oneself.
How Does Style Impact A Girl’s Self-Esteem?
Fashion has a major effect on the confidence of girls and their self-image. Her clothes may indicate her nature and character, which will enable her to voice herself and be at ease. The use of attire that makes one feel comfortable in them can increase a girl’s self-worth hence boosting her outlook about herself.
Girls’ Dresses Mean Empowerment And Identity
In the 19th century, women suffragettes wore dresses in their fight for social justice. Nowadays, girls wear dresses to show individuality and embrace femininity.
Fashion As A Way Of Creating Positive Self-Image
Parents and teachers can help girls develop a positive relationship with fashion.  Encourage them to dress in ways that represent your own child’s personality or what they like about themselves.
Lastly, girls are more likely to have enhanced sense of worth and appreciate their own beauty if they feel confident and relaxed with what they put on. Hence, Dresses for Girls are way to express her solid foundation. Let them breathe.

hot takes continued i'd love to discuss/hear your thoughts on~
jasmine is way more likable in the television series, than in the film, and she needs her own movie desperately to further legitimize her status as a disney princess. here's the thing: she's the first princess of color and that's MAJOR but the role she plays in the film of aladdin, along with the decisions she makes, don't reflect how great of a character she could be- besides, she isn't even the main character. i think she would fare SO much better with a film that's centered around her and linda larkin still sounds the exact same as when she recorded the character, so why is disney dragging their feet??? all of the other girls have their moment in the sun, while jasmine stays a supporting character despite her insane popularity and it makes NO sense. like linda is a disney legend, but scott isn't which is kinda ridiculous if you think about it (not in a way where linda's status should be revoked, but scott does so much work for aladdin and the franchise is named after his character), and i just think jasmine deserves more focus tbh
elsa's 'into the unknown' has DISNEY PRINCESS ENERGY, and is not only better than let it go or any songs from the frozen franchise in general, but is easily one of the best, if not THE best, song to come out of disney in the past 20 years.
moana comes across as really juvenile and i think she would really benefit from another actress coming in to really build her out and make her more mature! i think the writing did her dirty and the creative team behind her was way too focused on giving her white male bro humor and i just would LOVE someone to represent her that's like an athlete and attune to the world around her and that is physically competent and offers a more adult take on her
odette gave you critics EVERYTHING you've been asking for back in 1994 and does it way better than the 3d girls. you literally see her from the time she's a child, she's allowed to have a awkward phase in the film and character flaws, also the "WHAT ELSE IS THERE" scene is one of the most salient moments in any film- animated or not- and i'm so over people continuing to overlook this
tiana's mustard dress is SO insanely stunning and i think it's one of the most beautiful disney princess outfits ever! also i'm kinda uncomfortable with how much the line promotes pre arc tiana that just continues to idolize toxic grind culture. i get she's a workaholic, but if they are going to continue to go down this route, i'd love them to maybe focus on how it gives her a purpose or connects her with her lost father or even if it gives them an opportunity to highlight the barriers tiana and other historical women had against them as an educational moment rather than what they're doing
tangled is literally HETERO HELL. someone please introduce this girl to a gay person because her and flynn are soooo heteronormative and i
merida can be the gay person rapunzel meets tbh. i get so many non-binary/trans vibes from merida and i think it'd round her struggles out so much more and give so much weight to the issues she has with her mother, apart from the tired thing they were trying to do. but like merida has a story to tell- i want her to get everything she deserves, but away from dreamworks (i think she's still the only female lead they've had? like how can you trust a studio like that)
mulan's value is that she DIDN'T start off perfect. the fact that she had no interest in combat and wasn't physically competent, but was still able to achieve what she did is what makes her likable!! all of you are out here acting like she was born knowing how to do martial arts and it erases her struggle. also, she willingly would've given herself to an arranged marriage to honor her family and i think it's just a really interesting piece of the puzzle that doesn't get discussed as it should and opens the door for people to discuss western vs non western feminism
raya should be in a line with kida and jim hawkins tbh. that'd be cute
giselle should not be in the lineup. i'm sorry, but amy adams gives cheap party princess in her acting and i thought she'd evolve by the time we got to the sequel but she's still doing her uninspired snow white parody and i'm so tired. also- i think her animated pink look is STUNNING with the flowers and should be used more than that hideous white wedding dress with the cringy boots (i hate boots)
pocahontas stans are underrated!!! i get that certain people think that continuing to include poca in the line is problematic, but i just find her stans to be so mature and fascinating and interesting and they have SUCH well developed opinions on why they like her, which are totally focused on what's great about POCA and never contingent on bashing other princesses/making them less than so poca favors better in comparison (belle stans are the absolute WORST at doing this). also, just from a design perspective, i love how they didn't give her a tiny button nose and huge eyes etc and a more muscular tone
ok ngl i think anna needs a voice replacement. kristen bell brings NOTHING interesting to the role and there's not a SINGLE THING i can attribute to the character of anna through kristen's voice, it's not even interesting to me vocally. like ngl i actually think rapunzel has the worst voice of the princesses, but at least there's tangible reasons as-to why i dislike it that are characteristically rapunzel. anna's voice is just...bland. but, to say something nice, i think she has very fun meet and greets at disneyland and she's the one you all flatter the most when you do aesthetic moodboards/do those 'ai turn disney princesses into real people'
anastasia from fox's wardrobe is just as great as tiana's! they'd be a cute duo and i think it'd be nice if she showed up in the tiana series. they're from similar time periods and i think it'd be a creative way for disney to start incorporating her more, now that they're selling her merch in the parks
speaking of anastasia, anastasia tremaine and drizella should be brought in as fangirls of the disney princesses. i think it'd be so cute, especially with some of their cartoonish nature. besides, it's 2023- let's have them fangirling over more than just prince charming!
eilonwy is too young to be in the princess lineup and should have her own line with alice and wendy!!
WHERE IS THE LOVE FOR NAKOMA, i want more merch of her just as much- if not more- than esmeralda and meg. one of the most forgotten disney girls and she has the most unique design that we NEVER see in animation
if they were going to bring over a redheaded princess from another studio, it should've been fiona and not merida. LISTEN, fiona literally gives us everything and shrek 2 is the best shrek movie BECAUSE we see her world! she has so much to offer us but the shrek movies continually sideline her and i think she'd benefit so much from having her own thing. like dreamworks doesn't have a SINGLE female based franchise that i know of- it's time for disney to show them how it's done!!
the first fiveish barbie movies (nutcracker, rapunzel, swan lake, princess and the pauper, pegasus/dancing princesses combo) are the only 3d princess movies i accept (i don't count shrek bc it's shrek and only has a princess in it, it isn't a princess movie) and are superior to tangled, frozen, brave, and moana
some HOT disney princess takes that you'll hate or love but i fully stand by regardless. lets discuss~
singing/having a powerful voice is aurora's thing, not ariel's! ariel misses her concert in the beginning of the film, struggles with using her auditory voice to effectively communicate, and even gives it up to turn human. it means little/nothing to her and i think people just attribute singing to her, the same way sebastian and her father do, because it's a plot point in her movie meanwhile if ariel knew you all irl she would not be doing sing alongs like that. on the contrary, aurora is literally blessed with the SUPERNATURAL gift of song from birth by a magical fairy, uses it to express herself, and famously sings more than she speaks. so much of aurora's identity is tied into her song and i really think, if there was a singer or someone who owns the "voice" among the princesses, it should be aurora- besides, have you literally ever heard of a more divinely ethereal but also epic and powerful voice than mary costa's??? like don't get me wrong, jodi benson ATE but also after jodi, all the princesses more or less have a similar broadway sound but like no one else can do what aurora did
snow white should be the leader of the princesses. i love cinderella, i do, but snow white was literally the first and imo is the most groundbreaking female character, animated or not, of ALL TIME and she deserves her flowers. also, i think people are FINALLY coming around to see cinderella's value after years of "cinderella ate my daughter" weird misogyny masquerading around as feminism criticisms and i think a lot of that is centered around cinderella being an abuse victim and that's what's warming a lot of people to her...which i love, really i do. but snow white was also abused and, in her film, makes it a point to end the cycle of abuse. she was even the victim of a murder attempt, after which she continues to pick herself up and find shelter and work for her keep, and that gets lost so much and i think, whereas cinderella's dreams center around happiness, snow white singing of the fact that she's dreaming of the nice things someone would say to her and the way she needs grumpy to like her makes so much sense given her background and i literally never EVER see anyone discussing abuse when it comes to snow white. i think if people started talking her character more seriously and analyzing and appreciating it the way y'all do elsa, we would be saved from the heinously bad takes that get attributed to her (see: rachel zegler. that girl has not said ONE valid thing about snow white and her views are so embarrassingly stamped by pseudo online activism from the early 2000s by users that, not only don't realize how dumb they are but also think they're smarter than everyone else because they dabble in armchair psychology, and it's enough)
ariel collecting isn't leaned into as much as it should be tbh (and i'm talking as a serious pastime, not a parody of her never understanding human things that's contingent on her being a mermaid or being totally ignorant to humans)!!! like we get it, belle reads, but i think ariel collecting as a hobby is so much more interesting and well-rounded and nuanced. like, first of all, ariel collecting doesn't eliminate other hobbies, but actually promotes them! like she has books in her grotto, and we see her reading in poyw, but that's not the ONLY thing to her! she probably picks up on so many tiny details about like historical time periods or climates or dress patterns in a way that heightens life and reality and bridges people together because of all the studying she does and it's just soooo interesting to me, as we see things like the historical community evolve on tiktok and people who are fascinated with studying other cultures and the evolution of fandom in general, etc. also, i get this might be super super hot of a take but i think jodi performs certain songs better than she does part of your world...like i do love the song and i think it's more than worthy of being ariel's character's theme song but there's definitely some other bops in there that are just as good, if not better
belle should have a sequel where she gets to be unlikable for a change! even when she is unlikable in the film, it's never perceived as a character fault and linda woolverton's writing/the other characters in the film just blind hero worship and idolize belle and it's creepy tbh and i think it robs her of being a fully realized person that's treated like other people and can build human connections! like, everyone thinks she's stunning and wants a piece of her and never really takes her to task about her character flaws or even mentally challenges her and i think that's why she's so depressed? people only view her as being ultra desirable, whether it's the castle objects seeing her as a beautiful girl that can fall in love with the beast to the point where they ignore the really shady stuff she does, or gaston thinking she's the most beautiful girl in town and wanting to marry her, or even her fans thinking she's the smartest female character who ever breathed and is incapable of flaws. i think if we treated belle more as a person, maybe she could also have an arc in her movie and it wouldn't just be about the beast! also i think it'd be refreshing and we'd allow women to be people, too, and not this "smartest girl in town, but modest about it, prettiest girl in town, but unaware of it, loyal to her father but still stands up for herself, etc etc etc" unrealistic model. belle deserves EQUALS not just admirers who will never measure up to this pedestal they put her on
cinderella 1950 and cinderella 2015 are not interchangeable as characters or films!!! kenneth and lily did a HORRIBLE job at interpreting ilene woods's cinderella and the changes they made are shameful and the original character had so much more strength and realism to her, but in her own feminine way, and lily's character was a giant step back and is the epitome of making loud changes that result to NOTHING. the way the entire 2015 cast badmouthed cinderella 1950 on their press tour has always sat uncomfortably with me and so many people prefer it over the original one i just. also, cinderella looks best in pink! i LOVE aurora in pink, and we're omitting silver because that IS cinderella's color and nothing compares, but i just think she's so vibrant and cute in her pink dress and i love her with her hair down and it's just so much more fun and human and it doesn't get nearly as much attention as it should
they desperately need to age the content/demographics of the franchise up, like ngl them turning these women (and yes, i think they're women not little girls and the point of their movies is them BECOMING women) into like little nursery crib characters for babies and infantilizing them is creepy. also a HUGE segment of the fanbase is an adult one, like fans of the disney renaissance ladies are typically in the 20s-40s, not four year old's, and i just think disney is doing themselves a disservice by largely ignoring all the adult fans who collect these characters and make artwork for them and keep the princesses in vogue by writing about them and making social media content about them. like the avengers can really tap into their fanbase like that, meanwhile the best us princess fans have are like 8 dollar playline dolls?!?! where is our movie!!! where is our CONTENT. the 2003 princess party dvds will no longer suffice!

Growing up in the Neskinchen Forests, she’s well aquatinted with Spirits, and especially those who were once like her. She knows what risk she and her grandmother are taking, staying in this gravity well, but they’re prepared for that chance, and she’s not afraid. Now, after living in one house in the middle of nowhere for her whole life, her grandmother has convinced her to see the world. She can always come back if she decides it’s not for her, but she’s a fiery girl with a lot to offer, if she only let herself go and give it.
Personality
To put it bluntly, Sabina doesn’t have time for anyone’s shit. She knows what she wants, she knows what she’s doing, and if people try to put up a fight, it’s their lost- she’ll just go ahead without them. When she has a thought, she’ll say it as bluntly as you could imagine. Her grandmother never minded, and it was the only way to ever get through to the Spirits, although even that sometimes wasn’t enough. As most ‘tough gals’, though, she cares a lot more than she’d like to let on. She’s got friends now, goddamit, and she’s not gonna let their dumbasses get themselves killed when she has anything to say about it.

***Deep elongated inhale...
REASONS WHY I THINK AVA SILVA IS GOING TO BE REVEALED AS A CANON DIVINE BEING AKA AN ANGEL IN THE SERIES
Ok, first off...I’m not sure I believe the show is going in this direction. I’m personally leaning towards the belief that there is no higher power in the WN universe and it’s actually aliens or parallel universes or somethin somethin somethin I don’t know. But in rewatching the first season in preparation for whatever comes next, there are all these little hints that I think are nods at what I’m about to talk about. So just follow me down the rabbit hole for one second. (Additional heads up! I intend to put out a fic for this theory one day so be on the lookout for that)
It’s probably more than safe to say that there is a hefty heaping spoonful of biblical references sprinkled throughout the show. But we especially see these Easter eggs in relation to Ava who is arguably the least religious character on board (ie. the name Ava also relating to Eve - the first woman, her resurrecting from the dead, Diego referring to Ava as an ‘angel’ as he departs down a ‘tunnel with a light at the end of it’). However, what’s ironic in this gesture may not so much be Ava’s atheist character being thrust into a highly catholic role but a deeper layered joke by the writers where Ava may actually be more than even she realizes. So here’s my crackhead theory on why I think Ava is going to be revealed as an angel.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I. BASIC SYMBOLISM / ICONOGRAPHY
If we can think back to the scenes where Ava and Mary stay over night in the church there’s a lot to dissect in Ava’s behavior. For instance, Ava is heavily represented as a ‘lost soul’ in the first few episodes. We see her aimlessly wandering the world in search of adventure and life with the other vagabonds of J.C’s group with no clear or apparent higher purpose to her existence. Just a person who wants to live. Yet the way Ava is portrayed in these shots resembles a religious symbolism that is embedded into her body language.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
These portrayals are so beautifully natural that they blend into Ava’s actions without thought. It’s an unconscious movement on her part which may be the writer’s/story’s way of indicating her deeper connection to religion than she might actually care to believe.
This is also supported by her following interaction with ‘the big guy’ when she asks for guidance and stands at the altar. The way the dialog reads is almost a prayer, but...not quite. It’s casual and very informal, almost like a conversation between old friends - say a conversation between God and one of his angels. If this is the case Ava is indeed a lost soul by all accounts, just...a special one.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
II. AVA = AREALA = ???
This is obviously only one scene out of 10 episodes and may just be a stylistic move by the writers...but there’s so much evidence pointing towards the unanswered question of Ava’s identity (of which she herself seems unaware).
Vincent for instance, makes multiple references to Ava’s ambiguous relation to the events playing out in the story that hints there may be more to Ava than meets the eye. Upon discovering Ava’s name in the early search for the halo [EPISODE] he quotes that it ‘may be not so coincidental’ that the halo ended in her possession. This line itself is enough to trigger some alarm bells that sets off a chain reaction of questions. Why would it not be coincidental? We don’t know. But what we do know is that in some shape or form, Ava has a past. If we think to the individual promotional posters from season 1, Ava’s poster reads:
Tumblr media
For starters she doesn’t seem like all that bad a person? Honestly, what kind of harm could she have done to anyone if she spent the majority of her life paralyzed in a bed? Unless...she hadn’t spent her entire life stuck in a bed? Perhaps she’s done something that warrants what this poster advertises: redemption.
On this thread of the past we can think back to the flashback sequences we’ve seen so far. The first few depicting her time at the orphanage and her untimely death at the hands of Sister Frances. What’s interesting about these sequences though is that they’re choppy, momentary, washed out. Incomplete. This is Ava’s story and yet it’s so...underdeveloped.
But what wasn’t?
Tumblr media
The entire flashback of Areala’s first encounter with Adriel is fleshed out. Solid. I mean, Ava is literally placed in the shoes of Areala and takes her place in the memory - reliving the moment. The association and connection to the past here is so much stronger and concrete that we can maybe assume that she may have been living a false life. That Ava is in fact Areala by some means of movie story magic.
Not only is Ava’s connection to this past more vibrant and realized, but it’s mentioned and shown multiple times that they share some of the same characteristics. Vincent even quotes ‘you have a lot in common’ [EPISODE].
This is most closely depicted in their unique ability to notice things. Ava’s flamboyant personality distracts from a lot of her more intellectual and perceptive qualities to the point we almost don’t notice these quick little insights into her personality. She notices Vincent has assigned a nun to ‘babysit’ her during her first few days at Cat’s Cradle, there’s a split second shot of her realizing Beatrice brought supplies to blow up the tomb if she failed to deliver, she deciphered Sister Frances was going to murder Diego. And let’s not forget about sniffing out Adriel.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Many of these instances point out the interesting fact that Ava is good at feeling out foul play. A quality only one other person has truly shared up to this point.
Tumblr media
Furthermore we’re also aware of how the writer’s use the significance of names to prescribe different meanings to the characters. Ava meaning life, bird, freedom...Areala meaning shrewdness, exuberance and cooperation. A ‘team player’ as well as ‘lion of God.’
This is potentially a nod towards Ava’s character arc where she will supposedly transition from her self centered outlook to an eventual ‘team player’ as she steps into the shoes of the halo bearer. But what if this transition is more literal? That instead of becoming more like Areala she must become Areala.
What leads me to this is Ava’s constant flight instinct. She is perpetually running in one sense or another and it’s such a principal character trait that I find it hard to believe there is no deeper significance than simply self preservation. So what is she running from? Let’s put a pin in this!
III. THIS MF SOY BOI
Tumblr media
It’s probably safe to say that any scene involving Adriel was sus as hell. But from his entire introduction in the tomb, through his flashback sequence, all the way up into the finale we are potentially given an indicative answer to the question the show’s been posing the entire series.
Who exactly is Ava? Or if we’re following through, who exactly is Areala?
Whoever she is Adriel seems verrryyyy familiar with her. His entire demeanor towards Ava/Areala for instance seems one of reminiscent fondness.
‘You remind me of her (Areala)’ ‘I won’t leave you here’ ‘we don’t have to be alone anymore’
‘we’re the same’
Tumblr media
It really begins to read like the two were once on good terms. Old friends even which seems to have meant something significant (to Adriel at least) as he pulls away looking hurt and betrayed by Ava’s fear of him. This is the face of someone who’s been stabbed in the back and so personally traumatized that it can’t read as anything other than personal. At some point I think Alba Baptista (Ava’s actress) said that if she could be any character on the show she’d be Adriel, because he was a such a ‘complex character.’ Perhaps a sympathetic villian?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
So, what could Ava/Areala be running from? Perhaps whatever happened between her and her creepy celestial stalker ex.
Which brings us to one of Vincent’s closing insights as Adriel faces the gang down at the Vatican in episode 10.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
At this point in the story we’ve learned through the flashback that Adriel can’t possess the halo because it’s traceable by the tarasks. So...if we’ve just established that the halo can’t be in his possession...what does he want to be reunited with...?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Bro. If that ain’t the face of a bitch who just made shit personal I don’t know what is.
So, what are we left with? My bet is that somewhere along the way during Ava’s/Areala’s and Adriel’s celestial friendship there was a falling out or as Adriel quotes it a ‘betrayal of the highest order.’ Maybe Ava/Areala came to a realization that whatever they were doing was a big bad and bailed by making it her mission to bring an end to Adriel’s plan - unsuccessfully if we assume the halo was passed down via fowl play and Adriel controlled the narrative of the OCS. Of course, none of this explains how Ava/Areala could possibly have survived all this time unnoticed by the OCS or at what point she lost her memory - there are a lot of loose threads concerning the time in between Areala’s story and Ava’s introduction. But I feel drawn to one explanation that is repeated several times over to the point it’s slapping us in the face:
‘In this life or the next.’

What if Ava is a reincarnation of Areala?

The defense you have for Charithra is nowhere to be seen for Simone, lovely to see the picking and choosing
This fucking pissed me off so lets get into it.
I have four FOUR posts about Charithra on my page (2 of which are quotes of hers that resonated with me and 1 of which is me remarking on how hot she looked in her photoshoot-shoot me I like girls) that are not answering questions that range from ignorant to cruel.
But ok I have more posts calling out the hate that Charithra experiences than Simone-
Have you considered that maybe its because Charithra gets dragged through the mud more? That she’s consistently criticized more for taking up space she’s earned?
Have you considered that Charithra is held accountable for the predicted actions of the character she plays-in a way that no other cast member is? Or that maybe its because her efforts are constantly minimized because her character (unless its in a subservient secondary role) is no longer palatable for so many people.
Have you considered that maybe Charithra’s story just meant something to me? That I just connected to her struggles and her perspective as a WOC? As a desi woman? Or that maybe just maybe that maybe my admiration of Charithra has NOTHING to do with my admiration of Simone (which is also well documented thank you very much). I contain multitudes I am capable of more than one opinion.
At no point did I put down Simone to promote Charithra. Because here’s a novel fucking concept WOC aren’t one or the other. You can have both. You can want both to succeed.
The one and ONLY time I remotely compared Simone to Charithra I was using Simone as a touchstone to help someone understand why desi women like Charithra by virtue of simply having an outwardly Indian name have an even harder time than Simone’s already hard time finding roles in a primarily white industry. And I stand by that. People that make hiring choices EVERYWHERE in EVERY field throw out candidates EVERYDAY not based on skill or experience but just names because they’re too “ethic” or too “urban” and no one does it more than casting directors.
(As an aside she’s never said this so I won’t speculate and editorialize but if Simone Ashley used a stage name because she’s didn’t want her very Indian name to hinder her from career opportunities then that’s devastating and tragic and she deserves more because no one should have to pick between their identity and their career but until she says something I can’t speak on it)
Whataboutism in conversations about diversity help no one. All it does is create this idea that there is only a set limited space for marginalized committees and that by supporting one your hurting the other and that is not true. We aren’t filling the space you allot, we’re creating spaces. So no I’m not “picking and choosing” I’m calling out reprehensible actions that one woman faced because thats what I saw an overwhelming majority of.

Things that Husband!Harry would definitely do (a thread)
Tumblr media
(If you don’t think that Tiny Desk Harry doesn’t give off mad husband!harry vibes - he looks so fluffy- then we can’t be friends)
- He’d sneak into your room the night before the wedding because he missed you even though he knows its bad luck and when you’re mad at him for it he would just smile and place a kiss on your forehead and say “I don’t need any luck, I just need you”
- At your wedding reception he would walk around the room introducing you to everyone as “my wife” as if they didn’t already know who you were
- During your wedding dinner he’d spend the whole night whispering dirty jokes in your ear trying to make you laugh because he knew that even though it was your wedding day you were still spooked by all of the attention
- On your first year anniversary Harry wanted to surprise you by making you breakfast in bed so he started making pancakes as you slept. You woke up to the sound of your fire alarm going off and Harry blowing the smoke off a pan with a pillow. He’d give you a sheepish smile before mumbling a “maybe we get takeout this year?”
- During the holidays he’d hang mistletoe all around your house and force you to kiss him at every one. “Look love it’s mistletoe, you know what that means” he’d state with a grin. “Harry I just kissed you literally 2 minutes ago in the other room” you’d grumble “Doesn’t matter love, it’s mistletoe and those are the rules. Now come here and kiss your husband”
- Anytime the two of you would get into any sort of major fight where you would say “I hate you” he would shoot back “Well I love you so I guess you’re stuck with me” before going to sulk on the couch
- Whenever you went to his shows or stayed with him on tour he would force you to sit back stage and watch him from the wings so he could watch your reaction to his corny jokes and steal a kiss from you in between sets and on his bathroom breaks
- You agreed to be the designated drive for your group for a night out so Harry gets drunk and becomes extra clingy. He spends the entire night stuck to your side, shoving his face in your neck whispering “I’m going to marry you one day” to which you’d remind him quietly that you were already married. He’d then nod thoughtfully and mumbled “Well then I’m going to marry you again just in case”
- One night you would be tossing and turning in bed unable to sleep and you would accidentally wake up Harry. You’d apologies because you knew he had to wake up early the next day, but he would just shush you with a quick peck before repositioning you so that you could lay your head on his chest. He’d then softly start humming the tune to one of the new songs he was working on until you’d fall asleep
- Harry would convince you that he was capable of building the Ikea coat rack the two of you had bought for your new home on his own so you’d go into the room next door to take a nap. When you woke up and hour later you found him laying on the floor facetiming Mitch as he tried to figure out why the last piece wasn’t fitting properly only for you to look at it and realize he had built half of it backwards
- Harry would come home late from one his movie shoots and would mumble a quick hello as he walked in through the door. You’d be sitting on the couch watching and episode of Dateline and he would throw himself next to you and lay his head on your lap. You’d start running your hands through his hair as you finished watching the last couple of minutes of the episode before asking Harry how his day was only to realize he had passed out on your lap and was now quietly snoring, a small trail of drool slowly coming out of his mouth
- The next season of your favorite show Handmaid’s Tale had come out so you and Harry started watching it. Every five minutes Harry would ask you a question about the show until mid way through you looked at him and bursted out “Harry if you ask me one more question about the show I’m sending you to our room”. Harry would pout at you and sink into the couch, grumbling about how it wasn’t his fault he couldn’t remember what happened last season before he shoved some popcorn into his mouth
- You’d need to go shopping at Target one day to get some decorations for your niece's birthday party and Harry would decide to come along. “This is our list Harry, we’re not buying anything that’s not on the list” you’d say in the car before getting out, but it would be hopeless because every other aisle Harry would pick something up and say “babe we need to get this” and you would stare at him and say “is it on the list?” and he would grumble a no before sulking back down the aisle to put it back
- On road trips when he let you pick the music he would grumble when you would change the song every 30 seconds. “Love just choose a song, it’s not that difficult, gave you the bloody playlist” he’d state as you would continue to skip through the songs mumbling “I’m tired of that song though, just wanted to hear the chorus”. “Is that what you do with my songs too, just skip all the good parts to get to the bloody chorus?” he’d ask mockingly as you gave him a sheepish smile and mumbled a “sometimes” before finally picking a song
- It would be nearly 4 am and you would still be awake reading your book in bed as Harry slept soundly next to you. You could feel the tears running down your face as the main character just had their heartbroken and a soft sniffle left your nose which caused Harry to startle awake. “Babe what time is it?” he’d mumble as you continue reading, paying him no mind. He’d turn on his phone and groan as he saw the 4 flash at him before turning to see the tears on your face. “Oh no love did she get her heartbroken again? Sure they’ll get back together by the end” he’d state, knowing this was your third rom-com book of the month. You’d mumble a yes as Harry gently dog eared the page before you could protest. He turned off your lamp before tucking you into his side, pulling the covers up to your chin, letting you crying into his chest over your fictional characters
- You and Harry going to your 15th high school reunion together and he gets jealous when he sees you talking to your ex-boyfriend from when you were 16. He’d come up behind you and wrap an arm around your waist while placing a kiss to the side of your temple before reaching out his free hand to introduce himself. “Hello I’m Harry. The Husband” he’d say as he shook your ex’s hand just a little tighter then necessary
- Harry would be overly invested in your work place gossip so when the two of you would have dinner together he would constantly ask questions about what happened with your coworkers that day. “So did Stacy and Justin get caught yet or does Janet still have no idea? Did Kathleen ever get that promotion? If I ever see Garrett I’m going to punch him”
-  He’d force you to wake up early with him so the two of you could workout together in your home gym, but you’d just sit on the floor against the mirror in your workout clothes staring at him. After several attempts at trying to get you to stretch with him he’d give up and say “If you’re not gonna workout at least give me some motivation babe” so he’d do his abs workout in front of you and every time he came up from a sit-up you’d give him a kiss
- Harry would come down with a cold and he would turn into a 5 year old boy and try to milk it for everything it’s worth. “Think the doctor mentioned that cuddles would really help with my headache, love.” “Harry I don’t think that’s what the doctor said” you’d reply as you placed a cold wash cloth on his forehead. “Don’t think I would have forgotten such an important order from her. Now, come here I want to cuddle my wife”
- He’d come home from the studio fidgeting with his beat-up blue iPod in his hand as you were finishing up a quick dinner for the two of you. He would gently place the iPod on the counter next to you as he poured himself a drink to calm his nerves. You’d stare at it for a minute before asking “Is it finished? Can I listen?”. He’d nod before you gave him a quick kiss and took the device to the living room, leaving him there with his thoughts. An hour later you came back into the kitchen, tears streaming down your face as you ran up to hug him. “Liked it?” he’d ask nervously, this being the first time you’d heard the finished album. “Absolutely loved it” you’d whisper back causing Harry to release a deep breath before taking your face in his hands and kissing you roughly
- He’d start every award acceptance speech with “I’d like to first thank my wife for always supporting me” and then try to catch your eye in the crowd, giving you a soft smile that was only meant for you before going on to thank everyone else
- “We need an intervention Harry. Why are your suits in my side of the closet?” you asked as you came down stairs with one of Harry’s Gucci suits. “I was running out of space and I didn’t think you would notice” he replied with a blush. “Well I did so either you move them or I’m throwing them out” “Love but they’re Gucci you can’t just-” “Ah ah ah I don’t care. My side of the closet” you’d state before dropping the suit in his lap and walking back upstairs
So many others come to mind but these are just a couple that came to mind. I’ll probably do a Dad!Harry version at some point as well
